Where do fennec foxes live

Native to the arid regions of North Africa, particularly the Sahara Desert and its environs, such as Sinai and Arabia, fennec foxes favor sandy deserts and arid places with scrub flora or desert grasses. They’re also amiable. Although they are wild creatures, they get along well with people. Because they enjoy being petted and enjoy cuddles, fennec foxes behave similarly to cats and dogs. You must have the room for a fox if you intend to adopt one.

How much is a fennec fox

Depending on the breeder and location, the cost of a pet fennec fox can range from $1,500 to $3,500 or even more. Additional costs may apply for specialized care, housing, and possible transportation.
But it’s also crucial to remember that this price just covers the animal itself before looking for a pet fox for sale. There is much more involved in feeding, housing, and cleaning a fox.

"Smartest Pet I've Ever Owned!"
"I've had dogs and cats all my life, but my Fennec fox, Ziggy, is on another level of intelligence! He learned to use a litter box in days and picks up tricks so quickly. He’s incredibly engaging and loves puzzle toys. But beyond his smarts, he's just a pure joy to be around. He's got such a funny personality and is always making us laugh. He might be small, but his personality is huge and full of love. Thanks fennecfoxpet.com for all the helpful information!"

"A Truly Unique and Loving Family Member"
"Our Fennec fox, Luna, has become an integral part of our family. The kids adore her, and she's surprisingly gentle and patient with them. She's playful with the cat, and they often chase each other around the house – it's quite a sight! What surprised me most is how affectionate she is. She loves to be held and scratched behind her ears. She truly feels like a loving family member, not just a pet. We found fennecfoxpet.com to be an invaluable resource when we were researching Fennec foxes, and we still refer back to it for care tips."

What Do Fennec Foxes Eat

Fennec foxes are omnivores that consume a variety of meat and plants in the wild, such as fruit, insects, rodents, and birds. Many zoos feed fennec foxes commercial wild canid diets, which are the best food for pets. However, the majority of owners give their fennecs a combination of fruit, vegetables, and dog and cat food.

Meat and insects should make up 90% of a fennec fox’s diet, with fruit and vegetables making up the remaining 10%. Waxworms, morioworms, phoenix worms, dubia roaches, and locusts are examples of insects. The meat should have adequate levels of taurine (found in chicken and turkey hearts), vitamin C, and retinol (vitamin A, which is found in fat, liver, and kibble).

Imagine the delight of owning a pet that’s both exotic and incredibly endearing! Fennec foxes bring a touch of the wild into your home while offering all the joys of a domesticated companion. They are conversation starters and guaranteed to turn heads.

Can You Have A Fennec Fox As A Pet?

Fennec foxes behave much like dogs, but since they are not domesticated, they do require careful socialization. You’ll need to take precautions against them escaping when kept as pets.

Despite their obvious cuteness, fennec foxes are not good pets because of their wild tendencies, high energy levels, and unique requirements. Additionally, it is unlawful to keep a fennec fox in many regions.

Though uncommon, these small foxes with large ears are occasionally kept as pets. The behavior of fennec foxes is similar to that of energetic, lively small dogs. Even though these creatures were bred in confinement, it’s crucial to keep in mind that they still have wild instincts.
